Out of Doors

To walk in the woods is to celebrate our evolutionary heritages as they stimulate our thinking. They deepen our understanding and we should appreciate them for that. Moreover, walk in the woods plays a significant role as it encapsulates our struggles that one need to go through in order to better themselves.

Spending time in the woods isn't just pleasant, it is significantly restorative.

If you back in history, then you would understand how important is walking!? Our forefathers used to walk for days to get basic needs. They used to walk for days to get education. They used to walk for days carrying sick people to the health post. Now, freedom from walking has been craved. Only few unfortunate ones are forced to walk.

The history of walking is now paradox. It is so called an integral to human development. The walking habit is ceased abruptly. Walking is an analog in this digital world. However, it is more profound too. People choose to walk instead of ride.

Last month I was asked by a friend; how are Tinpane Bhanjyang and Dochoki? To answer this question, I hiked all alone to the Tinpane Bhanjyang, the last southern mountain seen from my house. It is just, very far away from my house.
There are many ways to go there. But I chosed to go from the places where people are less walk by. With no expectation, I started walking from western side of my place, crossed Nakhhu river and took long narrow path with full of bushes on both sides, finally reached Tika Bhairav through Champi Village.

Now, with full of rejoice, my real hiking started to the mountains of wilderness. I took the Tika Bhairav-Tinpane Bhanjyang-Lok Nath Highway. Keeping insecurity aside, I entered the woods and with no surprise, birds welcomed my hike. They were singing for someone who was walking alone in the wilderness. Saying hey birdy, you are too cute, I was quickening my footsteps as I have to come back home again. In the middle of nowhere in the mountain, I wondered so much that 'Home' is so powerful word.  You know, home is something like little universe for living beings. Greedy humans, in the name of development and to satisfy our greeds, we are destroying the home of others.

The sun was shining brightly and the clouds were hovering over me and the mountains. My walk continued through the zig zag ways of the mountains. I didn't notice that how many mountains did I cross!? I just kept on walking to my destination noticing calm breeze coming from the mountains. The open air braced my body and mind as I felt so much exhausted and got headache. I thought of returning back from the middle of the woods.  But my mind was at liberty and sent me to my destination.

I got calm and energy again after taking a bottle of water and an apple. Along the way, I observed the nature, heard the chirpings of the birds and relished the sound of the trees. Wondered! How could I pronounce the sound of the trees!? After all, I felt the nature and captured the moments in photos and videos.
In a miraculous way, my hike ended up on the top and edge of the mountain, Tinpane Bhanjyang. Unbelievable, I came so far by walking here and I found myself resting at the edge of the mountain. Everything was healthy and calm here. I enjoyed the 360 degree views of lush and took gallons of fresh air and thanked those mountains for everything. They just made my day. It would be useless hike if I didn't admire the beauty and quintessence of those mountains. They really inspired me so much in many ways.

After spending few minutes at the edge of the mountain, I turned back and started my journey all over again. June 15, 2019, the day, I should remember for the rest of my life.

Rolwaling Valley Trek

Aspiring climbers, seeking adventures and opportunities to test their strength and skill, attempt to penetrate the Himalayan wilderness and push their limits to reach the summits. However, the grandest excursion of all to be made hereabouts is to the heart of the Himalayas, covered with icy crowns. Those towering peaks laden with glaciers that are terribly roughened and interrupted by crevasses and ice cliffs are very high, which render comparisons with our own height meaningless. Only good climbers should attempt to gain the summit, led by a sherpa of proven nerve and endurance. Well-established mountain, forest, and river trails wind down the mighty Tamakoshi River to the place where our trek was for, Rolwaling Valley. © Bikesh Deshar Rolwaling, a remote mountain valley at an altitude of 4000 meters, lies northeast of Kathmandu, near the Tibetan border and to the west of the Khumbu region.  The Rolwaling Valley in the Gaurisankar Conservation Area stands as a tribute to the maje...

Soloing Manaslu, The Beast

Manaslu, it's beauty and desolation with the blessings and dangers to test the endurance and skills of adventurous climbers; but far better than climbing the killer mountain of the world, is going around its warm, fertile base, enjoying it's bounties like a bee circling around a bank of flowers. The distance is about a hundred miles and so, and will take some of the time, we hear so much about- a week or two- but the benefits will compensate for any number of weeks. Perhaps the profession of doing good may be full, everybody should be kind at least to himself. Take a good course of water and air, and in the eternal youth of Nature, you may renew your own. Go quietly, alone; no harm will befall you. Some have strange, morbid fears as soon as they find themselves with Nature, even in the kindest and wildest of her solitudes, like very sick children afraid of their mother—as if God were dead and the devil were king. Day 1. With the feeling of being into the wild nature for a while...

Set Free in The Wild

Set Free in The Wild 1. Each day seems so happy If we live our life full of wonder. And here I am with an urge To pack my backpacks and hit the bleary trails. Through patience which I built with time And lavishly grown inside my heart To be set free in the wild. 8. Nature is always an unerring cradle of inspiration. However, I was compelled and waited too long indoors. With an audacious call, I now breakdown the walls. Filtering my thoughts and emotions----- I put my boots on and shed my old skin too To walk away from the neonside of the asphalt jungle And just to be set free in the wild. 15. To know how it feels; "To be set free in the wild" I follow the sunlight as it falls on hills and meadows. I lie on the moors, gaze up the sky and say: Let my mind expand into its commodious, Let an infinite sky awake a sky inside my mind. I sit right by the river and mingle with its ceaseless flow. Moreover, I stand by the waterfall to purify my soul with its hea...
